Progress Photos - Woodworking Projects

Whenever I am creating an artwork, whether it be a new idea or old, I always take lots of photos to document the process. Here are a few different artworks in progress. Any questions just let me know.

Here are few pics taken along the way while making this wood carved artwork, which I might add, is yet to be named. All caving is done with a rotary tool and carbide burrs. It is a small test piece and measures approximately 15cm in diameter.

Here are a few progress pics from a wood carved piece completed a little while ago. If you look closely one of the pics shows the tool used for the carving. This artwork is a return to the series of work I started a while ago that was inspired by the sea. I had a whole bunch of ideas at the time but as usual another idea popped into my head, so I left them for another day. I'm determined this time to complete what I started from now onโ€ฆ We'll see how that goes.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here are some extra photos that will give you a bit of an idea on how this artwork was made. I used one piece of wood for this sculpture and it's designed so that they can all sit inside each other or on their own. The texturing is done with my @saburrtooth woodwork bits as well as some generic carbide bits. My spindle sander which I hardly use (but a great woodworking machine) was very helpful on this project sanding the inside curves perfectly. There was still a ton of hand sanding but thatโ€™s when you put on some music to help distract you from the pain ๐Ÿ˜‚ I hope this helps you understand the process a little more but also remember I offer lessons now where I can teach you whatever you would like to learn.

Some progression photos on the piece I'm currently working on. All carving work is done by my trusty grinders, but it still takes a very long time though, just as well itโ€™s fun :) I have made this design before and I named it Flow as it reminds me of the flow of water or air or similar. Also, even though I sketch up a design it still takes a life of its own and goes wherever it wants really. I guess this way no two will ever be the same.  #waterflow #flowing #air #carvingnature #elements

A few progress pics on a timber piece I was working on yesterday. Keeping things simple this time with just a standard shape and one texture. The texture is created with a common burr bit and a grinder. I have made a piece similar to this one before so it's kind of an evolution but with a small twist ๐Ÿ˜‰ There is a fair bit more to do on it yet but will show the end result soon.
